Rachael Commenced Training in Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu in 2007 with Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei at his Shimbukan Dojo in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
Since then Rachael has gone on to visit Kondo Sensei and his family many times visiting Japan to train and absorb the unique heritage and culture of Japan and its traditions. It is Rachael’s deep privilege to spend time with Kondo Sensei and his family learning too much to be described. Sensei says ‘Budo and life are the same’. Daito Ryu is not just a collection of techniques.
Rachael learns Daito Ryu directly from Kondo Sensei and his students at his hombu Dojo in Japan. Rachael is also studying ‘Shodo’ the art of brush calligraphy with Kondo Sensei and pracitces ‘Shodachi’ which is ‘first cut’ sword drawing.
Rachael and her family were honoured to host Kondo Sensei and his family here in Australia for New Year Celebrations in 2013.
Rachael wishes to share to the best of her ability the invaluable lessons learnt by studying this ancient art.
